|Biographical notes:||Barbara worked on developing the notion of women's councils in organisations such as the Central Land Council, Tangentyere Council and the Central Australian Aboriginal Congress (CAAC) where she became the deputy director. She was chairperson of the joint Aboriginal management information service and director of Centrecorp. Centrecorp an Aboriginal-controlled business company in Alice Springs provided the opportunity for Aboriginal people to be shareholders in any businesses that were developed on their land.
